We chat to Bondi local Jessica Kiely, Co-Founder & Chief at Wanderess Beauty about her thriving business and how it helps us go green.

What is Wanderess Beauty?

The Wanderess Beauty Discovery Box is a step-by-step subscription journey that makes your switch to green beauty enjoyable and convenient. We have developed a system that steps you through creating your dream beauty cabinet.

Every month a box containing 100% natural, non-toxic and ethical, beauty, grooming and wellness products is delivered to your door. Each month we focus on a different beauty routine. Taking you on a journey of discovery, introducing a range of products for you to test, step by step, one beauty routine at a time.

How and when did you start it?

I was introduced to green beauty after going through a difficult time in my life a few years ago after my marriage broke down.  I was in a dark place and was introduced to green beauty and holistic living by a friend who suggested its healing and restorative powers. I embraced it into my life, incorporating its nurturing rituals, alongside self-care and self love. Slowly I saw myself repairing, rebuilding, and my confidence grew. My eyes were opened to the beauty in everyday life; in scents, sensations and self-caring and I felt first-hand nature’s restorative, healing powers.

My desire to facilitate a genuine love for the body and the soul is at the underlying core of Wanderess, operating with a view to facilitating transformation of the self and the planet through self-care.

Where does your family like to eat out in Sydney’s East?

As as family we love to get ice cream from Anita’s on Campbell Parade and going to Maroubra to enjoy Chinese at Chueng Sing BBQ and Greek Cake’s by Eleni. When I’m by myself around Bondi I love to go to Ichiban Boshi in Bondi Junction.

What are your three favourite things to do with your kids on the weekend?

The weekends are mainly filled with playdates and the girls hanging out with their friends but we also love to go for a swim at Bondi Beach, going to the Bondi Junction library, finding books and reading together.

What is your favourite ‘me time’ thing to do?

In my spare time I enjoy body scrubbing, yoga classes, early morning walks and swim along Bondi Beach and salsa dancing (which I just started and am loving!).
